One Room Challenge Fall 2019

ORC Fall 2019 – Week 2

Good morning friends

Wowee week 2 of the One Room Challenge is here already – this 6 week challenge is going to fly by! If this is your first time joining me here, I am joining in the One Room Challenge as a guest participant and I am focusing on my baby’s nursery.

I have completely fallen down the internet shopping rabbit hole this week discovering all the wonderful things I could include in my room.

I am currently waiting on quotes for my window coverings and I am hoping they will be back soon. I have also narrowed down my wall treatment and I just need to hit order and that will be on its way. I think it will be really fun and I can’t wait to show you all…

What I would really like to achieve for this space though is to make some of the soft furnishings myself. To that end I have set a goal to make Hugo a quilt, a cushion for his cot, a cushion for his chair, a lampshade and if time permits an ottoman/pouf. Below is a photo of the fabrics I have pulled from my stash to use in his quilt and as inspiration for the other projects.

As you can see I am going to be using lots of mint and green and blue in this room. I think that these colours when added to the light coloured walls and the white furniture will keep the room feeling light and bright and airy. The wall feature will help to give the room some fun and the soft furnishings I am going to make I hope will inject both some texture and warmth and also a whole lot of love into this space.

Thank you for joining me again this week and I hope you will be back again next week to see some more progress. In the meantime head over to the One Room Challenge website or check out #oneroomchallenge on Instagram to see the progress all the other rooms the featured and guest designers are making on their rooms.
